Short Film
Christy is the second short from acclaimed director Brendan Canty and writer Alan O'Gorman. The film is about a 16-year-old school-dropout that interviews for a job, but when he’s let down by his brother he lashes back and looks to his friends for support.
Funded by Screen Ireland as part of the Focus Shorts and produced by Venom Films ; Christy was filmed in Knocknaheeny, Cork in May 2019. Led by the formidable Daniel Power, the film stars a host of young local talent who had never acted before. It premiered at the Cork Film Festival in November 2019.
